When it came out it was meta. Forget heavies, 6 guardians with Outbreak would melt bosses. Got nerfed, specifically I believe the part where OTHER guardian nanites would add to your stacks. If you aren’t familiar with the gun, every shot increases damage. A 6 stack could stack damage incredibly fast.
Its better with the cat (more nanites for add clear, and orbs). Its fine without. That said, you have plenty of time to get the cat done. The gun is amazing with or without the catalyst but it’s worth for the extra na nite damage for the gun plus I’m pretty sure Outbreak will become meta when all weapons get sunsetted.
